2024 Complimentary Bread — Mencia & Grenache

An unplanned blend that brought together two Spanish varieties and two SA growing regions. Blewitt Springs Grenache and Barmera Mencia. Both saw roughly 20% whole bunch and aged French oak in the winery. Just before bottling we thought (could these two work together?) and yep, they bloody did.

TASTING

A red wine that’s as comforting and generous as a classic bread basket. Red fruited, amaro like sweetness from the Grenache blends beautifully with the black fruited, star anise and gravelly minerality of the Mencia.

• 12.4% ALC/VOL
• Contains sulphites.
• No fining. Vegan friendly
